How To Kill a PS3 console

The following conditions were used for each test environment

o Continuous usuage of 108 hours without power interruption

o Game of choice was Resistance Fall of Man & Motor Storm, Enchanted Arms

o Blu Ray movies - Several - around 10 different titles, Casino Royale, The Departed, Pirates of the Caribbean, Terminator 2, Superman Returns ...

o Console was on stand-alone unit with wood 10cm approximate positions of the air flow in Neath.

oSame 10 players were in this period every game or device for a maximum of 1.5 hours in a given session used.

o The same controls were used during testing

The following cycle was copied and pasted into any test environment.

Environment 1 TypicalFamily Room

Temperature 73 F

Console Ran continuous for the 108 hours with only one incident occurred at 12 hours in - a slight vibration from the tray area which lasted about 20 seconds. were reported for the remaining speaking time no incidents

Environment 2 Back of a Freezer Van - unit placed inside the closed van with controllers and screen mounted outside - no one was ready in the van side to sit for a long time
TemperatureStarted at 50F and has been gradually downward over the next 4 days to reach 0degrees scaled.

Incidents We noticed a slight sluggishness in playback once the temperature reached 0 degrees, which was maintained in the past 24 hours, with 12 hours to go we thought we were going to crash with a sudden, blackout to the screen, which was followed by condensation on the cord for the screen.

108 hours in and still working fine

Environment 3 Sauna - again console inside andController and screen outside.
Starting temperature was 100F and gradually increased to 120F over the last 24 hours.
Incidents Strangley enough we thought this would be the ultimate field prove to be to kill the console, and to our surprise the only incident we noticed a slight burning smell that came in about 64 hours at 110F, the console was extremely hot when we entire test was completed, but through all environments with flying colors.
This console is now back into a normalEnvironment and work properly.

What Colour Would You Like the PS4 Console to Be?

Well, the tech specs, add-ons, appearance, shape and other ways of PS4 are not the only areas of discussion among the hardcore Sony Playstation fans.
